Hello my bright shiny new years friends!

As my New Year begins, I am blessed and honored to have all of you as my friends.

HOW TO GET FOCUSED productivity can improve around here

The most requested topic I get lately is about being productive. How do you get focused and stay on your project to get it done? On my live shows we have found ways to improve your focus and stay excited and creative when doing a project. There are many distractions for all of us when choosing to get things done. Here are my tips-

Step 1- GET INTO TRANCE-

Create a state of focus in your brain, during trance.

Tell your mind that you feel focused, powerful, intensely creative.

Link that state to a symbol that puts you into that state, like a doorway, a crystal, a beam of light… whatever your mind comes up with during trance that symbolizes unrelenting focus for you.

When envisioning your SYMBOL, imagine the project as ALREADY finished. Find 3 unexpected cool benefits to getting it done.

In your mind, do a crazy chicken (or animal of your choice) dance that represents being finished. Now of course you can get up and actually do the crazy chicken dance to anchor the actual physiology into the state of focus.

Why should you do this?
In addition to creating a state of focus, we want your brain to attach a feeling of joy, exhuberance, excitement, screaming, yelling, whooping, moaning… as  many sights, sounds, and feelings to the completion.

Most of you do NOT have a state that represents getting it DONE so you only feel overwhelmed or unmotivated when starting a project.

Try it today, you will like it.

Yesterday I sat on the edge of the water staring at the small smooth waves that were rolling over the coral and sand. I felt completely lost in the moment, unable to think of anything else.
My focus was intense as all my senses were involved.
Nothing else mattered at that moment, nothing could interfere with my desire to watch as the turquoise colors mixed in the intense spots of sunlight.
Nothing could stop the sparkling illumination of the waves.
The ocean’s creation is a most spectacular gift.

I am going to shoot video of that very spot today. And I am going to make it into a video and audio hypnosis session for YOU. Give me a day, I will have it for you tonight!

And that is mostly nowhere- IF you have not taken action.

I have some really bad news

			New Years Eve! Yes, it is really bad news… No matter how hard to try to keep your new years resolutions, the odds are against you. I am sitting in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The island of Caicos, on Grace Bay with white powdery beaches and turquoise waters. It is a beautiful and peaceful and brings the New Year to me in a special way. But for some of you the New Year is filled with dread. And for those who have already used my programs to stop drinking, smoking, lose weight… you are all feeling the peace of knowing that you will breeze through, ready for even more Big Change! I am convinced that the efforts that MOST people make to keep your resolution are going to fail. But you already know that.You’ve done this before. And this time of year I get a lot of email with people begging for help. And they often feel so helpless because they have failed so many times in the past. At the end of 12 hours I was a little pooped, but I made it. Took 3 breaks to pee and that was it!

Grrrrr, I am in a PC World and I don’t even know what they are saying. Help?

The Cat, PC World magazine, the Tweeting, the Placebo Secret, Friday Funnies and more. So, got a new kitten. Day 3 and she welcomed herself by tossing her cookies on the carpet just now. Thanks for that. (I am not yet a crazy cat lady, gotta have 3 cats to qualify. I have 2) I sailed over and spent several days on Catalina Island at Buccaneer days. Bruce Muzik joined us on Friday, arrived in my Dingy after 2 hours of flying over the waves at 30 MPH. He said he wanted an adventure. Dolphins like crazy, he says, jumping all around him. We had dozens of dolphins that raced our sailboat. Wow. Me and my pirates! Bruce Muzik and Riley, my son A weekend of pirates, wenches and rum, water and boats. What fun! If you want to join me next year, I am ready fer yee. Arrrr. I fell in the harbor with my iPhone and camera in my pockets. Bummer. Putting it in a bag of rice for 2 days did NOT help. Sailing, sailing… A BIg TV show in the UK wants to use my Hypnotize The Bunny video on their show. Who knew that hypnotizing a bunny could make you famous. Sad News- the bunny expired. One day he was just a lad hopping into our office as if destiny brought him to us. John fell in love with the little guy. Hypnosis in the news, research and discoveries Scientific American Mind had some fascinating research about how our brains make decisions several seconds before we know we make them. While your conscious mind is getting ready to make a choice, on a deeper level the choice was already made. What does this mean for us? If your brain has been triggered by things in your environment and your brain has already started the sequence that initiates the actions that result in a supposed decision that you make on a conscious level- it explains why willpower is such a difficult way to change behaviors. In other words – and hopefully with better sentence structure – something happens that stimulates your brain before you are aware of it. This unconscious process activates the brain’s activity to support the behavior. After this has happened you then THINK you are making a conscious decision, when in fact your brain has already made that decision for you. (up to 10 seconds earlier) Now, I think this is why hypnosis makes things so easy to change. To stop smoking without cravings, or give up drinking with ease or end addiction to p0rn or stop fears, anger, procrastination… The hypnotic process I use creates a trigger that utilizes the brain’s natural decision making process, and the brain has made a totally different decision (a good one) before you had to use willpower to overcome it. This video helps explain it as well. (but ignore the first minute about the special, that no longer applies) Now, looking at this for addiction, we can combine the decision making process with this research- New Treatment for Addicts? (Ivanhoe Newswire) — Disrupting drug-associated memories may prevent drug addicts from relapsing. New research from the University of Cambridge suggests when the recall process is disrupted at just the right time, the tendency to relapse is reduced or eliminated for a specific period of time. The study, written by Amy Milton, PhD, Barry Everitt, ScD and their Cambridge colleagues explains memories that are retrieved by the brain are often unstable. The recall process is called reconsolidation and while it’s in progress, memories can be reinforced, weakened or altered by interfering with specific receptors (NMDA-type glutamate receptors). Looking at how hypnosis affects our reactions and behaviors on an unconscious level and the positive effects that addicts have experienced when using hypnosis, it makes sense that hypnosis is actually directing the brain to made new reactions to old triggers. Make sense? The simple process of suggesting that seeing a bottle of alcohol will make your brain follow an entirely new path to new feelings and thoughts, removes the struggle. These new reactions cause your brain to make the decision before you even think YOU had a chance to make the decision – do I want a drink, I shouldn’t drink, I have to be strong. Instead the brain has already moved to an entirely new set of conclusions- I love my healthy life, my brain is clear, I feel great and in control. These new thoughts find all the feelings, memories, behaviors and chemical states in the brain and body to support the unconscious decision.
